Kingdom of the Wicked is full of darkness, mystery, and magic that it should be classified as a sin just reading the book. The story follows Emilia, who after the death of her sister will stop at nothing to find the murderer. However, as she dives deeper into the secrets of her family’s past she will uncover more than she ever bargained for, especially when she summons a Prince of Hell.
Kerri Maniscalco’s, Stalking Jack the Ripper was an incredible debut series, but Kingdom of the Wicked takes the cake. With this story’s setting inspired largely by her family’s Italian roots and history, Kerri Maniscalco’s writing soars from page to page pulling you along for the ride.
Kingdom of the Wicked is the Tardis in book form, it is bigger on the inside and it just works. This plot has so much mystery and information that it makes the reader continue to question till the very end. While deep in the story the book flows beautifully.
The characters bring so much to the story, which for me is one of the most important aspects of any book I’m reading. The conversations between characters make the book enjoyable to read especially when the Princes of Hell are present. I’m looking forward to meeting new characters in the sequel that we haven’t had the pleasure to meet yet.
I recommend adding Kingdom of the Wicked to your TBR if you are looking for a new YA Fantasy to get lost in It has everything you would want in a great book! I’m ending my review here before I start typing out spoilers. If you have read this book I would love to hear from you because I need to talk about it because I’m one hundred percent, unconditionally in love with this book and cannot wait for its’ sequel, Kingdom of the Cursed.
