It’s October and I can already feel a new crispness in the air. Something about October drives home the lingering doubts that the Autumn season will never arrive. I’m ready to cozy up in my chunky knit sweaters with a warm drink of my choice and fall into my October TBR. This month, I’m going all in on the spooky this month and reading books filled with dark plots of mystery, deceit, detectives, and villains, and of horrors found only in your nightmares. That last point might be going a bit too far, but tis the season! Here are the books I will be reading this month:
Vengeful by V. E. Schwab
Slade House by David Mitchell
The Edinburgh Dead by Brian Ruckley
Escaping From Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco
City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab
First up to the guillotine is Slade House by David Mitchell, which has been warming my shelves for a couple years. I’m ready to sink my claws into this story because with it only coming out to 234 pages, I’m sure it’s packed to the brim with twists and turns! I have a feeling I’m starting October’s reading off on the right book.
What books are you planning to read this month? Are you going spooky for the season or are you picking books up as the mood strikes? Let me know in the comments your most anticipated read is from you October TBR. Mine is definitely Vengeful by V.E. Schwab!
Wishing you all a happy reading month!
Kimberly
