This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about ten, secretly eleven authors, that I read books from for the first time last year! A few of these authors have also made their way to my auto-buy list, but that’s a post for a later date! Here are my new to me authors that I read in 2018!
V.E. Schwab
I picked up A Darker Shade of Magic in January of 2018 and from there I was hooked on V.E. Schwab’s writing. I ended up reading five books by Victoria last year, and I loved every single one.
Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
“Why did I wait so long?” This is the question I asked myself as soon as I finished the Illuminae audiobook. I will read anything this author duo throws at me! I can’t wait for Aurora Rising, which is coming out this year!
Sarah J. Maas
I was very late to the ACOTAR party, but I eventually made my way to Velaris and I’m so excited to be here! The Throne of Glass series is next on my list!
Ernest Cline
Ernest Cline and his book Ready Player One had been on my radar for a long time. All I have to say is WOW! Ernest Cline really impressed me with his story, characters, and writing. I need to read Armada soon!
Gloria Chao
Gloria Chao was a new to everyone author last year as her first book American Panda was released in February! I absolutely loved her book and her characters, and I’m looking forward to more books from her in the future.
Emily Lloyd-Jones
I became aware of Emily Lloyd-Jones, when I received The Hearts We Sold in my OwlCrate box. It sat on my shelf unread for at least a year before I opened its’ pages. I absolutely loved the book and I can’t wait for Emily’s next book, The Bones Houses, to come out in September!
Courtney Summers
Her novel SADIE was the hype of the YA community and it was so worth it. The juxtaposition of podcast and novel was such an intriguing way to tell the story as well as to read it. Courtney’s storytelling pulled me in and I can’t wait to see what she has coming up next!
Zoje Stage
If Zoje Stage wasn’t on my radar before her novel, Baby Teeth, she sure is now! That book was one very intense wild ride. I would like to read more from this author as she definitely kept me guessing on the true plot of the story. I wonder if her next book will be just as intense?
Victor Hugo
I’m no stranger when it comes to Victor Hugo’s books, but I’ve never read them until 2017. I love the musical Les Miserables with all my heart, and last year I finally read the book. Victor Hugo’s storytelling was phenomenal, but at certain
