It’s the beginning of a new year, which means it is time for a couple of shiny new reading goals. This year I’m making my goals with purpose. I have accumulated so many unread books that my TBR has gone from a cute small pile of books to a two bookcase TBR monster that needs to be tamed. The following goals will help me to be more mindful in my reading habits as well as my book buying habits in 2019.
- Read More Than I Buy
- Read 60 Books
That’s it! I’m only making two reading goals for myself this year. I’m going to keep it simple and really enjoy the books I currently own. I bought them for a reason and it’s about time I enjoy them instead of going for the shiny new releases. There will still be new releases, but I’m learning that not every book has to come home with me immediately upon release.
With over two hundred unread books sitting on my shelf, I know that I have a very long way to go until I’m happy with the amount unread books I own. My long-term goal will be to see that number drop to one hundred or even to double digits. For now, my goal of reading 60 books in 2019 and reading more books than I buy will be the first step in taming my TBR pile.
Do you have any reading goals for 2019! Are you planning to read more classics or perhaps you want to read more diverse books? Let me know in the comments what you hope to achieve in your reading life this year.
Thank you for reading my blog and remember that life is better with books!
