This weeks topic is:
Literary Father or Father Figures
Why was it so hard to think up literary father and father figures? I did get a few right from the start that I absolutely love. The others took some brainstorming and a long stare at my bookshelf.
The following list of people are parts of a whole. They add up to what I think a father or father figure is supposed to be. Fathers are supportive. They help protect you. Fathers let you make mistakes and help you learn from them. They are there to give you advice and to listen. Most importantly, they are there to watch you grow and help to nurture you. Though, their main purpose may truly be there to squash a cockroach at 1 AM, after you scream bloody murder in your bedroom (TRUE STORY). So, before I move on to my list of fathers, father figures and dads who fit any of the above reasons I need to say something to the one guy I know for sure fits the criteria! My dad!
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, DADDY! I LOVE YOU!
Now to my list of Literary Fathers:
Arthur Weasley – Harry Potter series
Atticus Finch – To Kill A Mocking Bird
Nathan and Andy – Lola and the Boy Next Door
Remus Lupin – Harry Potter series
Hagrid – Harry Potter series
Have to put an Honorable Mention here to Sirius Black. I think that those mentioned above were more of a father figure to Harry so they got the nod first but if I could have a Top 6 I would add Sirius.
Do you agree or disagree? Who were some of the fathers on your list? Let me know in the comments! Thank you so much for reading and I will write again soon!
