Reasons You Know You’re A Book Lover

You’ve named a pet or two after characters from a book | My sweet kitty, Stanton, is turning 17 this year and I named him after my favorite character in the series I was obsessed with in 6th grade (2002-2003). *Take a guess at the book series and I’ll let you know at the end of the post*
You can’t stop buying books. | This is a big problem for me. When one has over 300 unread books, one should probably read them before buying more. No surprise I’ve bought more.

You’ve read a whole book in one sitting. | I’ve done these quite a few times, but the one that sticks out for me is The Selection series – original trilogy. I read this whole series in about two days, only stopping for sleep and to pick up the next book.
You’ve read more than one book at a time. | My caveat to this is that one has to be fiction and the other non-fiction or graphic novel. My second read has to be completely different in genre or style than my fiction book.
You take a book with you everywhere…just in case you can read. | Find me a book lover that doesn’t do this. It’s one of the key elements of book lovers. We much are attached to a book at all times.
You try to always read the book before seeing the movie | I binge read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo in one day because I was taking my friend to see the movie for her birthday the next day….that was an intense two days. If you ever read or watched that movie you know what I’m talking about.

When you buy a purse with it must fit a book. | This can be any type of book: my kindle, hardbacks, paperbacks. I must be able to fit a book in my bag at all times, no matter the size!
You buy all the bookish merchandise especially candles! | Shout out to Alchemy & Ink for creating my favorite bookish candles! Natalie creates quality products for her customers and has fantastic customer service!
Your natural habitat includes a book, a blanket, a warm drink, and a furry animal to cuddle with. | I love my little reading nook in my library/craft room. Reading in a room while surrounded by books is the absolutely idle book lover life in my opinion!
You are able to relate real-life situations to books in a matter of seconds. | If a book character or a scene doesn’t come up in conversation at least once a day when I’m talking about everyday non-book topics then I’m doing something wrong. Sliding that secret book talk into your DMs!
Do you relate to any of the above statements? Drop a comment below letting me know the reasons you know you’re a book lover! I would love to hear from you!

I’ve definitely read a whole book in one sitting before. Have you met any non-readers who are shocked by that?
My TTT .
Most of my friends are readers, but I’ve definitely had a non-reader or two be like “You read that in one sitting?” I just don’t understand why they are always surprised though!
Oh a sure sign that you are a book lover (or loved a particular book or series) is naming a pet after characters from a book <3
Absolutely! It’s the first place to look for really great pet names!
